I create solo journaling and solo storytelling RPGs built around a standard deck of cards and a notebook.
These games are designed for quiet, focused play: drawing cards, interpreting prompts, and writing honestly about moments that matter. There are no complex rules, no character optimisation, and no expectation of winning. Instead, play unfolds through atmosphere, interpretation, and the slow accumulation of meaning.
Across my catalogue you’ll find:
cosy and reflective games about everyday roles and routines (cafés, travel, waiting, work)
intimate personal stories dealing with memory, identity, guilt, longing, and change
noir-tinged mysteries and investigations told through fragments and final revelations
historical and period-inspired one-shots focused on people rather than events
short experimental designs that explore tone, structure, and narrative pressure
Most of my games are:
solo-only
card-driven (usually one card = one scene or prompt)
journal-led, encouraging written reflection or story fragments
lightweight, intended to be learned quickly and played in a single sitting or over a few quiet sessions
This page is also home to the Solo Story Deck SRD — a flexible, setting-agnostic toolkit for designing your own card-based solo games, mysteries, and journaling experiences.
Some projects here are polished, self-contained releases. Others are openly experimental, shared as design explorations or creative tools. All are meant to be approachable, adaptable, and played at your own pace.
Take what works for you. Tweak where licences allow. Play quietly and honestly.
